On December 23, 2005 the crew of White's Marina in New Hamburg facing December chills and yards of ice undertook near heroic efforts to clear the way for Launch 5 to be put back in the water so she could serve on a special mission.
All the boats were shrinkwrapped, a barge was anchored in front of the launch site for the winter and the marina started to ice in. Then the request came to re-launch the Patrolman Walburger for a mission. The owner of White's Marina and his sons swung into action (literally; see above) to free the barge from it anchors and break up yards of ice. After the barge was moved out of the way, Launch 5 was dropped into the ice.
