On Sunday April 25, 2004 The Queen Mary 2 and the Queen Elizabeth 2 created history when they sailed from New York Harbor together. QM2 sailing from New York for the very first time and QE2 taking her very last voyage.
Security was extremely tight and Launch 5 was assigned a post off the Statue of Liberty as part of the security detail maintaining the security perimeter. The day was capped off with a fireworks display in the Harbor.
